About

David Mantek and his family have lived in West Ashley in Charleston, South Carolina since 1995.  It was that year that David decided to buy a fixer-upper single-family home with a garage that had been converted into two one bedroom apartments.  Although, David had never worked in real estate before he decided to spend the summer working on the property and renovating the interior back into two fully functioning one bedroom apartments.  After completing the work and renting out the apartments, David was hooked on real estate and decided to buy another house.  After he fixed up his second and third houses, he realized that he enjoyed the work so much and was successful at it.  He decided to make it a career.

In 1995, David founded Mantek Properties, LLC. and put service above all, striving to offer the best possible living space to tenants while also giving them a fantastic value.  David and his wife Danielle own and operate the business and provide living to 56 tenants in single-family, multi-family, and commercial properties that David himself renovates.

Mantek Properties, LLC. prides themselves on being a full-service company, offering their time and resources to each tenant.  The tenants know David and Danielle personally and David provides each with his personal cell phone number to be available at any time.

Mantek Properties, LLC. received first place in the “Clean Cities Sweep Great American Cleanup” in both 1999 and 2000.  The business received the award for their efforts in cleaning up and remodeling a 32 unit complex  in West Ashley that was previously a crime ridden apartment complex.  Mantek Properties, Ldavidmantek_familyLC. made it safer by installing cameras, lighting, and hiring off-duty Charleston police officers to patrol the area on weekends.  The remodel was so successful that Mantek Properties, LLC. moved their office into the complex.

In 2008, David and his wife Danielle received the “Captains Pride Award” as the first place business for remodeling Indigo Village at 1662 Savannah Highway.  It was previously Ye Olde Town Shopping Village but it had fallen into disrepair.  Mantek Properties, LLC. completely changed the complex and now reputable businesses like Little, Gym, Olympik Deli, Lenny’s Subs and Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries operate on the property.

David Mantek also received the “Homegrown Hero” from Natural Awakenings Magazine in 2010 for his work remodeling low-income properties and offering fair and ethical treatment to his tenants.
